The country’s largest business lobby is turning to the National Labor Relations Board as a potential new ally in its long-term efforts to get the government to treat nonprofit, community-based worker centers no differently than unions.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce traditionally has lobbied the Department of Labor on worker centers, claiming the organizations participate in labor organizing campaigns. But with that agency making little movement on the issue, the business group is asking the NLRB to get involved.
